Andy Karl

Andy Karl is a three-time Tony nominee and Olivier, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award winner but none of that matters when you’re DEAD. Beetlejuice marks his third collaboration with director Alex Timbers (Rocky, Moulin Rouge!) and his first time riding a sandworm in the Netherworld. Andy earned international acclaim as Phil Connors in Groundhog Day the Musical, ironically repeating productions in Australia, London, and Broadway. He is creator and executive producer of the 2025 Hallmark film Christmas Above the Clouds, and co-writer/producer/star of the award-winning short Just The Hits. On TV, he’s known for roles in Law & Order: SVU (Sgt. Mike Dodds), The Equalizer, The Good Fight, Forever, Blue Bloods, and Prodigal Son. Film credits include And So It Goes (opposite Michael Douglas), Here After (with Christina Ricci), Jersey Boys Live (opposite Nick Jonas) and Joyful Noise (with Dolly Parton). Broadway appearances include Moulin Rouge! Karis Oka (she/her) is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (Bachelor of Fine Arts – Music theatre) and Centrestage Performing Arts.
Her professional debut was at the Sydney Opera House in the original Australian cast of SIX The Musical (LWAA) which then preceded a national tour. Karis’ portrayal of the principal role of Edna in Yve Blake’s critically acclaimed musical Fangirls (Belvoir St Theatre) earned her a Greenroom Award nomination for Best Leading Performer in 2021. Her most recent stage role was as the intense but endearing Ocean O’Connell-Rosenberg in the sold out season of Ride the Cyclone (Hayes Theatre Co).
Karis’ TV credits include Mish in the Australian series Erotic Stories (SBS), Shoshanna in Population: 11 (Stan) and this year she will join the cast of Strife (Binge) in the role of Lily.
In 2022 she was nominated for a Film Critic’s Circle of Australia award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work as Lian in the feature film Girl at the Window (F.G Film Productions). Karis played Chantelle in Rebel Wilson’s feature, The Deb (Camp Sugar) and in 2020, she was proud to be recognised as a semi-finalist in the inaugural Artists of Colour Initiative.
